September 30, 2021 ‐ Today, Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) in collaboration with the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board (RCCDSB) is confirming that one student from St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School has tested positive for COVID-19, and one student from St. Joseph’s High School is reported as a probable case of COVID-19. RCDHU is awaiting test results for the probable case.
September 28, 2021 – COVID-19 Proof of Vaccination Differs for Canadian Armed Forces Members
September 28, 2021 ‐ Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is notifying businesses and facilities that proof of vaccination looks different for military members. While non-CAF members must show government documentation accompanied by picture identification (ID), military members are required to show their CAF-issued vaccination booklet along with their military ID. Please note that proof of vaccination for CAF members can be in the form of an entry in a vaccination booklet, a sheet of paper or a card.

September 27, 2021 ‐ Today, Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) in collaboration with the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board (RCCDSB) is confirming that one student from Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School and one student from St. Joseph’s High School have tested positive for COVID-19.
September 17, 2021- RCDHU Confirms COVID-19 Outbreak at Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College
September 17, 2021 ‐ Today, Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) in collaboration with Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College (SWC), is confirming a COVID-19 outbreak at SWC in Barry’s Bay. To date, four students have tested positive for novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19); three cases in addition to one reported on September 10, 2021. All contacts have been notified and there is no concern about risk to the public or other students and staff at this time.
September 11, 2021 – Possible COVID-19 Exposure at Bent Anchor Bar and Restaurant in Combermere
September 11, 2021 ‐ Today, Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is investigating a possible exposure to COVID-19 at Bent Anchor Bar and Restaurant. An individual who tested positive for COVID-19 provided service at Bent Anchor Bar and Restaurant in Combermere, Ontario on September 1 to 6, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., during their contagious period.
September 10, 2021 – RCDHU Confirms an Individual at Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College Tests Positive For COVID-19
September 10, 2021 ‐ Today, Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) in collaboration with Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College (SWC), is confirming that an individual at SWC in Barry’s Bay, has tested positive for novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19).
August 30, 2021 – RCDHU Participating in Provincial Contact Centre Auto Dial Calls for Second Doses
August 30, 2021 ‐ Today, Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is confirming that residents who have not received a second dose, and it has been greater than 40 days since their first dose, will receive an automated call from Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Moore. This automated call is part of the provincial campaign to encourage individuals to pursue a second dose COVID-19 vaccination appointment.
August 23, 2021 – Heat Warning
August 23, 2021 ‐ A heat warning has been issued for areas in Renfrew County and District, with maximum temperatures of 30 to 32 degrees Celsius, with a humidex value of 36 to 40 degrees Celsius for today, and possible into the middle of the week. Hot and humid air can also bring deterioration air quality and may cause the Air Quality Health Index to approach the high-risk category.
August 11, 2021 – Heat Warning
August 11, 2021 ‐ A heat warning has been issued for areas in Renfrew County and District today and Thursday, with expected maximum temperatures reaching the low thirties, with a humidex over 40 degrees. It is important to take steps to prevent heat-related illness during this heat event. Extreme heat can put everyone at risk from heat related illness, however, older adults, infants and young children, people with chronic health conditions, people who work or exercise in the heat, homeless people, and low-income earners are at greatest risk.
August 5, 2021 – Hepatitis A Risk Related to Frozen Mango Products
August 5, 2021 ‐ Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a food recall warning due to a Hepatitis A outbreak. Based on CFIA’s investigation findings, various frozen mangos from Nature’s Touch Frozen Food Inc. have likely been contaminated with Hepatitis A.
