Public Health Inspectors provide free one-day training in safe food handling practices. Anyone can attend. The training includes laws, causes of food poisoning, and how to store, prepare and serve food that is safe to eat.

Thursday, October 3 – 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Renfrew – Groves Park Lodge
Wednesday, November 6 – 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Pembroke – Miramichi Lodge
Participants must pass an exam to qualify for Provincial Food Handler Certification. This certificate remains in effect for five years from the date of the exam. If you have an expired certificate from a provincially recognized food handler training course, you can take the exam without having to take the course again. Food Handler Training and Certification is also offered by organizations recognized by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. There is usually a cost for these courses.
