Feeding Your Child

Spend one-on-one time with a Public Health Nurse and get support as well as answers to your questions about feeding, sleeping, crying and other parenting inquiries. No appointment needed, open to families with children age 0-6.

A 2 ½ hour workshop for pregnant women and their partner/support person. Get hands-on information about how to breastfeed. Partners and/or support persons are welcome and encouraged to attend!

Topics included are:

  • current recommendations;
  • making an informed decision about infant feeding;
  • breastfeeding in the first few days/weeks;
  • latching and positioning your baby;
  • hungry and full cues;
  • breastfeeding challenges;
  • partner’s role;
  • expressing and storing;
  • local resources and services;
  • and more.

Come out to receive one-on-one breastfeeding support and counselling provided by a breastfeeding specialist. Open to all, no appointment needed.

Come to one of our free Baby Food Making Workshops and learn about:

  • how and when to start baby on solid foods
  • how to make your own baby food
  • what to feed your baby
  • current recommendations and more.

The ideal time to attend is when your baby is four to five months old. You may bring your baby and other support persons. Each participant will receive a free food mill for making baby food and a resources about introducing solid foods.
