Bump to Baby Prenatal Education (Online)
RCDHU now offers a free online prenatal program called Bump to Baby. This program can be completed at your own pace, giving you the flexibility to learn when it’s most convenient for you.
Topics include:
- Pregnancy
- Labour and delivery
- Feeding your baby
- Caring for your baby and keeping them safe
- Parenting
- Helpful services in Renfrew County and District
The Bump to Baby online prenatal course provides:
- The flexibility to learn at your own pace, whenever it fits your schedule
- The option to pause and pick up where you left off
- Accessibility in English (program currently not available in French)
- Support from a Public Health Nurse at RCDHU for any questions or assistance

Healthy Babies Healthy Children program
Program Overview:
The Healthy Babies Healthy Children (HBHC) Program is a free, voluntary home-visiting program for pregnant individuals and parents/caregivers of children from birth until they start school. The program is available to families who live in Renfrew County and District. You do not need an OHIP card to participate.
The program provides support for families to help you learn more about:
- having a healthy pregnancy and birth
- caring for yourself and your family
- eating healthy
- breastfeeding and feeding your baby
- connecting with your baby
- helping your child grow and develop
- parenting support
- finding helpful programs in your community
Is This Program Right for You?
Pregnant individuals and parents/caregivers may be eligible for the home visiting program if:
- You would like extra support during pregnancy or while caring for your child.
- You have questions about parenting, your child’s growth and development, or building a strong relationship with your child.
- You are experiencing challenges related to housing, finances, relationships, or other life changes.
- You are feeling stressed, worried, anxious, depressed, or managing a physical or mental health concern.
- You feel isolated or would like more support.
- You are new to Canada and are adjusting to life in a new community.
- You would like help connecting with programs, services, and resources for you and your family.
* To see if you qualify for the program, a member of our Family Health Team will contact you to learn more about you and your family and determine whether the program is a good fit for your needs.
What to Expect
You will receive support from caring professionals, including:
- Public Health Nurses
- Social Workers
- Home Visitors
Visits take place in your home and are tailored to your family’s unique needs, strengths, and goals.
Program Hours:
Every family is different. Your Public Health Nurse will work with you to determine a visiting schedule that meets your family’s needs. Visits may vary depending on your stage of pregnancy and your child’s growth and development.
Home visits are scheduled Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

If you’re interested in participating in the HBHC Program, a member of our Family Health Team will contact you to learn more about you and your family and determine whether you qualify for the program.

How to Refer Someone Else
Health care providers, community organizations, service providers, family members, friends, and other support persons who would like to refer a family to the HBHC Program can complete the HBHC Referral Form.

Pregnancy & Infant Wellness Clinics
Clinics for pregnant individuals, new parents, caregivers, and families with infants. Get free one-on-one support, resources, and connections to community services to help your family thrive! Walk-ins welcome.

Let's Grow Clinics
Let’s Grow Clinics
RCDHU is offering by appointment Let’s Grow Clinics. Spend one-on-one time with a Public Health Nurse and get support as well as answers to your questions about feeding, sleeping, crying and other parenting topics. Children 0-18 months can also receive their routine immunizations at Let’s Grow clinics. Clinics are open to families with children age zero to transition to school.

Infant Feeding Supports
Infant Feeding Support
RCDHU supports families with infant feeding including breastfeeding, formula feeding and introduction to solids.
Support is available by phone or in person. A public health nurse can answer questions and provide helpful resources.

Mental Health Programs
Coping After Baby Workshop
Coping After Baby is a free, virtual workshop for pregnant women and moms (of babies under 18 months old) who have been feeling depressed or anxious. Eligible participants can take part in an online cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)-based workshop that is group-structured and led by public health nurses.
This workshop explores practical strategies to manage symptoms of depression and anxiety by recognizing and gaining control over thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
This is some time just for you, a chance to pause, breathe, and focus on your own well-being.

ConnectWell Mothers & Babies Program
What you can expect:
- A welcoming space with free coffee, tea, and snacks
- Opportunities to connect with other moms experiencing similar stages of motherhood
- Mindfulness strategies and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)-based tools to help manage stress, anxiety, and depression
- Encouragement, support, and a chance to feel heard, understood, and empowered
