Client Service Standards

RCDHU’s Commitment to Service

Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is committed to providing high-quality, accessible and equitable services for the health and well-being of all in Renfrew County and District. This commitment is expressed through our Client Service Standards which describe how we respond to the needs of our clients and our communities with excellence and respect.

RCDHU is committed to respond to inquiries in a timely manner.

Voicemail messages:

  • Voice mail messages will be returned before the end of the employee’s next scheduled business day. Voice mail messages include a notice of when the staff person will be returning to work and the option to re-direct to reception.

Email:

  • Reasonable efforts will be made to acknowledge email or online messages within two business days.
  • If a conclusive response is not possible by then, an interim response will be sent, along with an estimated date for a complete response, not to exceed 15
    business days.

Letters by mail or fax:

  • Inquiries by mail or fax will be responded to within 15 business days. If a conclusive response is not possible, an interim response will be sent within 15
    business days which will include an estimated date for a complete response.

RCDHU provides services in a manner that is respectful, equitable, and responsive to the range of diversity in Renfrew County and District including, but not limited to, race, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation and ability.

RCDHU is committed to maintaining service locations and public information that are accessible so that everyone can benefit from our programs and services. This includes having information that is available in alternate formats for clients that would benefit from them.

RCDHU encourages direct or anonymous feedback about our programs so that we may continuously improve our programs and services. In this way, we strive to improve the health of individuals and communities within Renfrew County and District.

RCDHU is committed to providing information, communication and services that are based on the best available evidence and practices, as well as a commitment to ongoing education and quality improvement.

RCDHU respects the privacy and confidentiality of all our clients, and we are committed to keeping client information safe and secure. Additional information about this commitment can be found on our Privacy webpage.

There may be exceptional circumstances when RCDHU is not able to fulfil some of our Client Service Standards (e.g., during public health emergencies, natural disasters or other service disruptions). As such circumstances occur, RCDHU will communicate details about how our service standards are affected, through social media, website notifications, voicemail messages and in reception areas, as needed.
