COVID-19 and Flu Vaccine Clinics

RCDHU will offer joint COVID-19 and flu vaccine community clinics throughout Renfrew County and District. The new COVID-19 XBB vaccine and annual flu vaccines will be available. Please note, appointments must be booked for COVID-19 vaccination.

Clinics are now open to all residents 6 months of age and older. Please note, masks must be worn at all RCDHU clinics.

For those looking for COVID-19 AND flu shots

  • COVID-19 immunization appointments must be booked through the Ontario Provincial Appointment Booking system.
  • Flu vaccines will also be available at the time of your appointment, should you choose to get one at that time. You do not need to indicate this when booking your appointment.
  • A COVID-19 Vaccine Form must be completed before receiving your vaccine. Forms will be available at your appointment. To complete this form in advance, visit the below COVID-19 Vaccine and Clinic Information section.
  • Please note, appointments cannot be booked directly through RCDHU. If you need assistance booking an appointment, please contact the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1-833-943-3900.

For those looking for a flu shot only

  • Flu shots will continue to be offered at RCDHU clinics on a walk-in basis, no appointment required. Wait times may vary.  
  • Flu shots are also available through participating pharmacies. It is recommended that you contact the pharmacy ahead of time as appointments may be required.
  • Flu shots are available through participating health care providers.

Flu Information

The flu (influenza) is a contagious virus that can spread to anyone. For information on symptoms, treatment, and preventing the spread of flu, visit: Respiratory Illnesses: RSV, Flu, and COVID-19.

Some people are more vulnerable to complications and hospitalization from the flu, including young children, older adults, pregnant individuals, and individuals with underlying health conditions.

Getting a flu shot is the best way to protect yourself and the people around you from getting the flu. As of October 30th, anyone 6 months of age and older who lives, works or goes to school in Ontario is eligible for a flu shot, free of cost.

Clinic Information

For those seeking just a flu shot, you can attend a RCDHU clinic on a walk-in basis. No appointments will be booked for flu shots. Please note, clinic wait times and vaccine availability may vary.

As of October 30th, RCDHU’s clinics are open to all individuals 6 months of age and older. The flu and COVID-19 vaccines will be available.

Flu vaccines are also available through your regular health care provider and at local participating pharmacies. Clinic Forms

A consent form must be filled out before you can receive your flu vaccine. Consent forms will be available to you at the clinic and you do not need to complete this form in advance.

You may choose to complete the consent form in advance if you require assistance or wish to save time at the clinic.

Types of Flu Vaccine

At the clinics, there are several publicly-funded flu vaccines available. Everyone 6 months and older should get the standard quadrivalent inactivated vaccine (QIV) every year, unless there is a medical reason not to.

If you are 65 years of age or older, there are different flu options available to you.

For individuals 6 months of age and older:

  • Quadrivalent Inactivated Vaccine (QIV) FluLaval Tetra
  • Quadrivalent Inactivated Vaccine (QIV) Fluzone® Quadrivalent

For individuals 65 years or older:

  • QIV-HD Fluzone® High-Dose Quadrivalent
  • TIV-adj Fluad®
