As the trail is quite short, you may want to explore on you own, or retrace your steps to the signs and take a little side trip on a narrow country road (turn left once you get back to the signs) which crosses the Snake River. The road entrance is about is about 0.7 km on your right as you walk along Cty Rd 9. Follow this dirt road out to where it meets the paved country road and retrace you steps to the Shaw Woods sign and your car.
