Prenatal classes, taught by Public Health Nurses, are offered regularly throughout the year at the Health Unit's Arnprior, Barry's Bay, Pembroke and Renfrew offices and at the Petawawa PMFRC.

Each class is about two hours in length and includes a refreshment break. A resource book called Baby's Best Chance and other useful handouts are provided to expectant mothers and their partners.

Register early to begin classes before your 20th week of pregnancy.

Relaxation techniques, comfort measures, and breathing for labour and delivery are taught and practised during these classes.

A tour of the maternal-child unit is organized with the local hospital.
