A breastfeeding Buddy is a mother who has breastfed and can provide telephone support to new or expectant mothers. To get connected with a breastfeeding Buddy, call the Ontario Early Years Centre (Pembroke) at 613-735-6866 extension 4129.

A 2 ½ hour workshop for pregnant women and their partner/support person. Get hands-on information about how to breastfeed.

Topics include:

  • Benefits of breastfeeding
  • Breastfeeding in the first few days/weeks
  • Latching and positioning your baby
  • How to know when baby is hungry or full

Learn about when and how to start your baby on solid foods and how to make your own baby food at a free Baby Food Making Workshop.

The ideal time to attend is when your baby is 4 to 5 months old. You may bring your baby and other care providers. Each participant will receive a free food mill for making baby food and a booklet about introducing solid foods.
