Health Unit services that
promote Child and family health include:
1.
Consumer Advice - call the Health Info Line (613) 735-8666 or
1-800-267-1097 for advice about breastfeeding, infant nutrition,
dental health, parenting, prenatal health, and other family health
topics. Also, check out the fact sheets, pamphlets and recommended links in the

Info section of this website.
2.
Classes - choose from a variety of classes including parenting
classes, prenatal classes,
Nobody's Perfect.
3.
Breastfeeding support groups - offered in a variety of
locations around the health unit area. Click

Workshops, displays and presentations - covering the latest
information on child and family health.

Media Promotions - Child and family health are promoted on a
regular basis through the Health Unit's newspaper column "Health
for All", media interviews, feature articles and campaigns.
7.
Healthy Babies Healthy Children Program - a free program
offered to pregnant women and families with young children in Renfrew
County and District. Helps families to understand and encourage
healthy child development, boost parenting and coping skills, access
resources and services, and arrange for home visiting if required.
