The Province of Ontario
is divided into 37 health units for the purpose of providing public
health programs and services in the community as mandated by the Health
Protection and Promotion Act, Ontario, 1995. The Renfrew County and
District Health Unit is one of these 37 health units, located in south
eastern Ontario. A map of the area covered by the Renfrew County and
District Health Unit is presented below.

The Renfrew County and District
Health Unit covers a large geographic area that includes the County
of Renfew, the City of Pembroke, the Township of South Algonquin in
the District of Nipissing and most of Algonquin Provincial Park.
The Health Unit's main office is located in Pembroke, with branch offices
in Arnprior, Barry's Bay, Deep River and Renfrew.
The Renfrew County and District
Board of Health oversees the administration
of the Health Unit's programs and services.
The Health Unit has
61 full-
and part-time staff members. Staff are organized in the following divisions:
Administration, Health Promotion and Clinical Services and Health
